Year 1 and 2

I hope you like this story as much as I do. It's one of my favourite picture books.

Can you answer my questions? Somebody in your bubble has to help you, of course.

1) The bear is looking for his hat. Is it blue and round or red and pointy?

2) How many animals does the bear talk to, when he is looking for his hat?

3) Did you know, who the hat thief was before the bear knew? Why did you know?

4) What happened to the rabbit?

5) Do you think the bear is a nice bear or a bit scary?

If you can write down your answers, an adult can take a photo of it and email it to me. Then I can publish it on the blog. Give it a go, guys! Especially the year 2s can do this, but the year 1s can try and it is okay, if somebody else writes for you, really young writers.

I love bears - do you, too? Here are some worksheets (colouring in mainly, an adult can read the text to you) that you might like about bears:

Year 3 and 4

Last week you listened to Clark, the Shark and I got a few great emails with work from you guys. They are published under the task in week 2. Here is a little drawing idea I found:

This week we are following the adventure of Archie, the doughnut. Enjoy! Click on the link below for the story:

Now, I am asking you: What are your ideas for jobs that Archie could have had other than becoming a snack? I think he could have found a friend and they could have become a pair of doughnut glasses:

- I must say, I am proud of myself. Well done, Mrs Goodall!!

What are your ideas? Email me!!

Elli - I like the way you are thinking: Archie could be a doughnut window!

Doughnuts are tricky to make. What is your favourite treat? - Cup cakes, cakes, waffles, pancakes?

Write down the recipe for your favourite baking and email it to me, please! Please, make sure you add some pictures - I love the ones you draw yourself, but it can be a photo, too.

Yummy - thank you, Vika, for sharing your recipe for fritters!

Venessa did a fantastic job sequencing the Owl Babies story we read together: Well done!

Year 5 and 6

I have the feeling that you didn't like the planning task last week. I didn't receive anything from you ... will have to email you, guys.

This is what your planning could look like:

Next steps: How to hook in your reader, when you take your explanation from planning to drafting  .....

Create an emotional response, make your reader feel for the children ....

....... by describing a scenario:

........ by using rhetorical questions:

........... by sharing your clever thinking:

What are you waiting for, guys - give it a go. But make sure you use your (or my) planning to write your text. Tick off all the ideas on the plan that you have used in your writing. At the end of this week I hope to see some cool texts that I can publish here:
